We all know that Earth both rotates and revolves. Day and night change due to the rotation of Earth. The revolution on the other hand brought seasonal changes. But theoretically, if we look then we must have a day and night of 12 hrs each. Actually, this is not true for every place because of its tilting. Yes, the Earth is tilted by 23.5 degrees around its axis. This is the reason that we have days at some places for about 6 months and nights for another 6 months.

So in this article, we will learn about these places which have days and nights longer than about 24 hrs.

1. NORWAY

[ Capital City:- Oslo ]

Norway is also called as “Land of Midnight Sun”.  It is located on the European continent and lies in the Arctic circle. During the summer seasons in the period of May to July, the Earth is near to the Sun. Due to this, the duration of the day here is around 76 days.

2. FINLAND

[ Capital City:- Helsinki ]

Finland is a Nordic country located on the European continent. It is a neighbouring country of Norway. Same as Norway we can see the Sun at midnight also. The period of the day here is around 73 days. If you want to observe the beautiful polar lights then you can make a visit to this place.

3. CANADA

[ Capital City:- Ottawa ]

It is a country in North America. 

Here also sun barely goes down even at night. During the period of May to July in the summer seasons, the duration of the day is around 50 hrs.

4. ALASKA

[ Capital City:- Juneau ]

Alaska is located in the North-Western state of the United States of America. The majority of the land is covered in snow even in starting summers also. At night the scenario is very beautiful when Sunlight strikes the snow.

5. ICELAND

[ Capital City:- Reykjavik ]

It is basically an island located in the North Atlantic ocean. In the whole European continent, it is the second-largest island after the United Kingdom. Same as mentioned above the Sun does not go down here in the summer seasons.
