The Southwest monsoon is about to hit the Indian subcontinent and brings a huge amount of rain to many parts of India. These become major tourist attractions for exploring the beauty of these places during rain. Lets me know about some of these places in our country.
1. MAWSYNRAM
It is the highest rainfall place in the world coming in the first position. Holding the beauty of the rain, it is the perfect destination. It is located in the Khasi Hills of Meghalaya having an annual rainfall of 11800 mm. While going by road you may come across many
waterfalls creating an extraordinary beauty of the place.
The Guinness book of world record has awarded it the wettest place on the earth. Thousands of tourists come every year during the monsoons to enjoy and admire its beauty. Meghalaya means “The abode of clouds”. While visiting this place you can also go to Mawsmai Caves, Mawsmai Falls, Nohkalikai Falls, and Mawlyngbna.
You can visit it during April and June. This is the best time for visiting it when it
receives the first rain. It's mesmerizing. If you travel these places in between July and
October after post Monsoon you can experience the Mesmerizing Ambience.
The nearest airport is Shillong which is barely 3 hours from Mawsynram.
2. CHERRAPUNJI

It is the second-highest rainfall Place in India. The annual rainfall is 11,600 mm.
The flawless and all-encompassing scenes make it one ideal objective to pause for a
minute or two and loosen up. Cherrapunji will resuscitate you with its immaculate magnificence and complimenting lovely air around. In this place, houses are so marvellous like heaven.
You can visit it during Post monsoons from October to May to witness the greeneries of this place. To get there you need to go to Shillong airport which is nearest to Cherrapunji. One can easily find a bus and taxi for visiting.
3. AGUMBE

It is located in a small village of Thirthahalli Taluk that comes under the Malnad region.
It experiences the highest rainfall in Karnataka. It receives the highest rainfall in the southern part of India. You can watch the sun setting in the Arabian Sea while reflecting the Light from the salt crystals. This region has many beautiful waterfalls and a wide variety of flora and fauna flourished over here. Once you can visit Kunchi Falls, Barkana Falls, Onake Abbi Falls andKoodlu Theertha Falls while residing here. Agumbe offers Various trekking adventures to nature lovers.
The best time to go is post-monsoon and during winter due to hiking and visiting rain
forests. Assuming you need to appreciate lovely cascades then, at that point arranging an excursion to Agumbe in April and May will give you a hypnotizing experience.
Udupi Railway station is near to it if you plan to go by train. You can also take a bus
from the main city of Karnataka and Kerala to these places.
