In comparison to the Oceans, seas are small water bodies containing a major amount of salt. Although we don’t have a distinction between a sea and Ocean. But roughly it can be defined as the interconnected system of networks that joins oceans. 

So let’s learn about some of these:-


1. Bering Sea

The Bering Sea is located in between Alaska and Siberia. It has the most variable weather conditions on Earth. 

Winters are most difficult over here as they cause winds to become hurricanes and water freezes to Icecaps causing difficulty in maneuvering boats and ships.

It has huge varieties of Fish species around 400.


2. Mediterranean Sea

The meaning of Mediterranean means “middle of the Earth”. It is located exactly in the middle of the Earth connecting the Atlantic Ocean.

It provides routes to many global businesses. Several oil tankers maneuvers through this route making spillage a common problem. This causes several Marine pollutions.

According to a Survey, On average around 10 to 15 tons of oil spill every year.

3. Caribbean Sea

Well, we all have seen the movie “Pirates of the Caribbean”. 

The Caribbean Seawater has an average temperature of 24 degrees, a temperature suitable for attracting a tourist spot.

There are however frequent natural disasters occurring such as Earthquakes, volcanoes, and tornadoes.

As we discussed earlier the movie is based on this sea because in the 90s its route was used to transport national treasures and trading artifacts.

 

4. South China Sea

It is still a disputed one due to the authorization claim of both China and Vietnam.

It is surrounded by China, Vietnam, and the Philippines. There are many unidentified islands around this sea that are mostly uninhabited.

It has become a very valuable fishing ground. 

Several oil deposits can also be found here.

 

 5. Arabian Sea

It is located between Indian and Middle east countries. It shares its borders with India, Pakistan, Iran, Oman, and Yemen.

It forms the major trade route for India with the European countries. Even back during the ancient period, this route was used by several merchant ships.

We all know about the famous fable of Sinbad.
