Well most of us have studied radioactivity in our schools or colleges.
There are certain which are considered radioactive elements. So, let's start by knowing half-lives of some of these elements:

Uranium(Ur): 4.5 billion years
Plutonium(Pl) 238: 87.7 years
Cesium(Cs) 137: 30.2 years
Strontium(Sr)-90: 28-years

In case of any breakout of these elements in an open atmosphere, there
are certain places white abandoned to go for a living.

Till now there are five such radioactive places. We will know them one by
one.

1. FUKUSHIMA, JAPAN
The Pacific coast of japan experienced an earthquake on a Richter scale of 9.0
11th March 2011. These tectonic movements result in the tsunami and increase
the waves significantly directly hitting the Fukushima and Daiichi Nuclear
Plant. Hypothetically, the plant was to be closed on account of a catastrophic
event.

Unfortunately, the cooling generators failed and a nuclear meltdown started.

This disaster results in a radioactive spill causing a radiation spike in the ground and other areas of the Pacific coast.

The Government of Japan ordered the shut down of the power plant and do the
necessary arrangement to ensure its safety.

2. CHERNOBYL, UKRAINE
Well, I hope all of you must have seen the documentary on Chernobyl. This was considered a major nuclear event back in the 1980s. This occurred on April 26, 1986, at roughly after midnight, when reactor 4 had gone out of control and within a minute it exploded causing radiation which is 10 times more than a nuclear attack. Its aftermath is more deadly, the Govt. has to evacuate the whole town of Pripyat.

The death figure is as high as 93,000.

The survivors develop other problems such as thyroid, cancer, major skin
burns.

Still, after so many years, the radiation levels are crazy.

3. THE POLYGON
We all know that the Soviet Union is an expert in testing nuclear weapons. They used “The Polygon” during the Coldfield for their testing. Now it's a part of modern-day Kazakhstan. According to an expert estimate, around 400 nuclear weapons have been tested there.

As a result, now it's not good for living. People living there are diagnosed with
radiation sickness.

4. HANFORD, WASHINGTON – USA
During WWII, the US made plutonium for nuclear bombs in a tranquil town
called Hanford, Washington. The materials made there were in the end
dropped on Nagasaki. Then, at that point, during the Cold War, Hanford's
plutonium fabricating endeavours increased again to create 600,000 extra
atomic weapons.

The plutonium plant in Hanford is presently decommissioned, yet (see half-life
numbers above) it right now contains approximately 66% of our country's
profoundly radioactive waste – in both strong and fluid structures. Radioactive
waste has polluted an expected 200 square miles of groundwater nearby also,
making Hanford the most radioactive spot in the United States.

5. GOIAS, BRAZIL
Goias has quite possibly the most intriguing accounts of all because the radioactive waste was uncovered during a theft endeavour back in
1987. Two men broke into a neglected emergency clinic, expecting to take
salvaged material. While there, they saw a malignancy treatment gadget that
contained a gleaming, blue material the crooks couldn't help it.

The looters took the machine and – neglectful of the way that the sparkling,
blue material was radioactive – they fired calling up companions, neighbours
and family to come to investigate this stunning shining article. Unfortunately,
every individual who regarded the call was presented to radiation. More than 250 individuals were conceded to the emergency clinic, four of whom kicked the bucket. The Brazilian government was brought in to tidy up the space however the remarkable occasion left radioactive particles spread across a huge region.
